Sub: - Delay in holding DPC for promotion from Postmaster Grade-I to Postmaster Grade-II & Postmaster Grade-II to Postmaster Grade-III in Punjab Circle – Request to conduct immediate DPC

Respected Sir,

          This association would like to invite your kind attention once again on the above noted subject for which whole Postmaster Cadre of Punjab Circle is waiting for eagerly. Postmaster Cadre has already completed five years as on April-2016. The Hon’ble Directorate has already taken kind approval of DOP&T and in the above quoted Directorate’s letter, it is crystal clear instructions to all the Circles Heads to hold DPC & promote on regular basis to Grade-I Postmasters to Grade-II Postmasters with five regular services and similarly Grade-II Postmasters to Grade-III Postmasters with four years regular services using one time relaxation of qualifying service for filling up vacancies. Many circles have already exercised this power. This association already requested vide its letter No. AIAPC Punjab/Corr/2/2016-2017 dated 26.09.2017, No. AIAPC/Punjab/Corr/07/2016-2017 dated 28.12.2016 & No. AIAPC/Punjab/corr/10/2017-2018 dated 01.02.2017. It seems that Circle Office has not started the process to hold DPC for the very purpose. Delay in holding DPC, the candidates of this cadre of Punjab Circle will lose working seniority for their next promotion besides effect in All India Gradation List of Postmaster Grade-III to the posts of Sr. Postmaster. It is also added that delay in holding DPC, the purpose of Hon’ble Directorate’s letter will not be remained in practical.

               Therefore, this association, requests to Hon’ble Circle Head to kindly hold DPC at the earliest possible & issue regular promotion orders to eligible officials.
